People took ill too, at that time. Dicken’s Pearl. There were stories. Abominations you never heard before. 

Those of us who stayed, to pay for our sins, we carry on, one way or another. 

Some say the coal was always fine and still is, but that the pickaxes found something else down there. Deep in the crust, in the hot meat of the earth.
